Surprise!

7 Nov

So I had another bit of spotting yesterday morning, and finally gave in and texted the Russian again. I told him about the spotting and he told me to come in today.

At 6:20pm we walk in and the Russian didn’t mince words (he knows who he’s dealing with), he just sent me over to my date with Ole’ Wandy.

Silence. For a second I thought we were dealing with another empty sac. I couldn’t breathe.

Then he said: “There’s a heartbeat”

And I could breathe again.

The Shmembryo is measuring right on target. I asked about the speed and he said he couldn’t really measure accurately yet, but it seems fine. Next time we see the Russian is for our NT scan on December 5th.

We made it.

And we even have our first Shmemby picture!

Not posting it here because I don’t want to trigger anyone, but I finally get why everyone calls their little ones “peanut”.

Best. Day. Ever!

Wonderful news. Bit scary there in the beginning. Its nice of you to be so concerned with others by not posting the picture but really it is your blog and even though I’ve recently miscarried I’d love to see the photo. I’m happy for you and hope you have a healthy pregnancy. Good luck!

      I second that motion!
Maybe you can put the pic up on a separate page and link to it from your post, so we’d have to do an extra click to see it and can easily stay away from it if we don’t feel up to it.

Yay for a fantastic thing coming out of a bit of a scary moment! I can’t believe you have to wait a whole other month now for your next scan! I’m overjoyed that your little Shmembryo is not only in the right spot but growing as it should and has a nice strong heartbeat!

Whiel I’ve loved all my other scans, the early one at 6w and the “dating” one at 8/9w were my fave as it showed that there was actually something there that was living and growing. The following were just awesome to see the growth and change, but didn’t have the same impact really.

Here’s to more good news in the next coming months!
