Choco Buddy!

Hey all – if you’ve clicked over from LFCA, the link on there is wrong. The post in question can be found here. But you should join choco buddy too! :-P

Well – I’m doing it! Low tech for now, but I’m sure it will be enough to start us out. :-)

The Basics:

What is Choco Buddy?

It’s a way for us to connect and support our blogging sisters in the TTC/IF/Adoption/Loss blogosphere.

Every girl needs some chocolate to cheer her up. In the rollercoaster that is our world, we need it more often than not.

Choco Buddy makes sure we all get some yummy chocolate hugs in the mail when we need them.

How does it work?

1) you fill out the form (at the bottom of this page)

2) Put this button on your blog (just copy and paste the code – if it doesn’t work properly, try deleting the extra spaces in the code. If it still doesn’t work, drop me a line in the comments):

just copy and past this code, minus the {} . If it doesn’t work, try deleting the extra spaces. If THAT doesn’t work, drop me a line in the comments.

{<a href=”http://mommyodyssey.wordpress.com/chocobuddy” target=”_top”>

<img src=”http://mommyodyssey.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/chocobuddybutton.jpg” alt=”Chocobuddy” /></a>}

3) You will be paired up with a choco-buddy according to your answers.

4) You and your buddy will receive each other’s real name and mailing address (for you anonymous bloggers, don’t worry – your name will only be revealed to your buddy).

5) You will monitor your choco-buddy’s blog, and whenever she is down, or has something to celebrate, you will send her some chocolate in the mail (it doesn’t matter what. If you’re afraid of shipping costs, I’m sure a single peanut M&M will suffice. It’s the thought that counts!)

6) That’s it!

And now, the form. Don’t worry! I will keep all of your information private! Fill it in! submit it! Share the love!

***Please note: you may not be paired up immediately. If you requested someone specific, or someone close to you geographically, it may take a while until a proper match is found. Also – sometimes I just get crazy busy. However, I will do my best to make it happen as quickly as possible! If you want to help me make it happen, spread the love and share this project with your readers! Thanks!

I am so excited to see how this goes! If at some point it gets big (hoping so) I’m up for helping in any way.

I tried to add the button to my blog but i’m getting an error message.

      thanks so much!
I’ll check the code again to make sure it works.

Love this. I like all chocolate except plain Hershey’s (time in France spoiled me to American chocolate) – although Hershey’s with almonds is okay.

I actually want a far-away buddy (or buddies) because I work in a specialty grocery store, only found in certain parts of America, and want to be able to send chocolate that my buddy can’t walk down the street and buy. And I want to get chocolate I can’t walk down the street and buy, because that is awesome. That said, I’m willing to have lots of buddies, so if some are in the states, that’s ok too.

So exciting. Chocolate and postage are totally valuable uses of my hard-earned money!!!

Marie – saying stuff like that makes we want to be your buddy! :)

Marie’s post inspired me! I want lots of buddies too and I don’t care where they are from.

Marie, I want cool chocolate I can’t get here!

    • Marie February 14, 2011 at 07:32 #

Send me your address! Chocolate for everyone! Even Arohanui, for whom shipping costs me more than the chocolate itself.

Ok ladies – just a quick update:
You haven’t been paired up yet because I’m waiting to have a nice amount of submissions before I start pairing, to make sure that everyone gets what they want. We’re pretty close to my initial target number for pairings – but help me spread the word so this can happen! :-)
I’ve submitted to lfca news, and if you have any other ideas on how to spread the love I will happily accept them. :-)

Funny I was just about to ask about pairing…I didn’t realise that chocobuddies were a new thing…makes it even more exciting!!

Try deleting the spaces in the code. If that doesn’t work let me know. Glad to have you on board!

Am I an idiot? I don’t see the code. LOL

    • Belle August 23, 2011 at 23:02 #

Lol! Eggs in a Row, I don’t see the code either. Mo! Help! :)

  11. Theresa October 23, 2011 at 04:06 #

I think I am an idiot. I tried putting the code in by adding an image in my sidebar, but when I try to save it the code disappears! I’m kinda new at this so I’m not even sure if I’m doing it the right way!
